GRP / FRP Composite Lamp Posts
Durable lighting columns for coastal landscapes, humid environments and urban spaces, with options for painted finishes and decorative internal illumination.
High humidity, rainfall and airborne salts can accelerate corrosion of metal lighting columns and increase maintenance costs. GRP/FRP composite lamp posts offer a practical alternative for parks, pedestrian routes, tourist destinations, hospitality developments and urban lighting projects. Heights, dimensions and mounting arrangements are selected to suit each project.

Cross-Wound Fiberglass Construction
The pole body is manufactured from glass fibres and resin, without added filler, using filament winding with a cross-wound reinforcement arrangement. Fibres running in different directions reinforce the body and create an integrated composite structure with very high impact resistance.
Wall thickness is selected according to the pole dimensions and project requirements. The final design must account for the weight of the luminaire and brackets, wind loads and installation conditions.

Resistance to Coastal and Humid Environments
The composite body does not rust like steel, providing a useful advantage in humid and salt-laden coastal environments. This can reduce maintenance associated with corrosion of the pole body and the need for replacement.
Fasteners, connections and any metal components must also be selected and protected for the installation environment so that the complete assembly complements the durability of the composite body.

UV and Weather Protection
UV-resistant additives in the resin and a protective polyurethane coating help reduce the effects of sunlight and protect the surface against outdoor exposure.
Painting with a suitable exterior coating provides more than a decorative finish: it creates an additional protective layer that reduces the amount of damaging ultraviolet radiation reaching the resin and helps maintain the composite surface.
The coating system and maintenance schedule are selected around local sunlight, humidity and operating conditions.
Colour Selection and Surface Renewal
Pole colours can be coordinated with the landscape design and surrounding street furniture. When a new colour scheme is required, or the coating becomes worn, the surface can be prepared and repainted without replacing a sound pole body.
Existing coatings should be removed using methods and materials compatible with the composite to avoid damaging the resin or glass-fibre reinforcement.
Decorative Internal Lighting
Translucent models can accommodate lighting equipment inside the pole body, creating distinctive visual effects along pathways and within parks and tourism developments.
Light transmission depends on the material formulation, wall thickness and surface finish. Internal equipment must be suitable for the environment, with maintenance access considered in the design. Internal illumination is decorative; the main pathway lighting is designed separately to meet the project requirements.

Key Benefits

- Very high impact resistance from the glass-fibre-reinforced structure.
- Sunlight protection through UV-resistant additives and polyurethane coatings.
- Colour selection and recoating to coordinate with urban furniture.
- Decorative internal illumination in translucent models.
- Manufacturing and installation details tailored to the project.
Project-Based Supply
VIP Global Co. coordinates the supply of composite lamp posts through manufacturing partnerships. To request a technical review and proposal, send the required height, quantity, installation location, luminaire and bracket details, wind conditions, preferred colour and any internal-lighting requirements.
Pole construction, foundation connections and accessories are established following review of the project conditions.
