Polyester Film
Industrial Polyester (PET) Film
Reliable film selection for industrial carrier, separation and processing applications.
Polyester film, commonly manufactured from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), is valued in industrial applications for its dimensional stability, consistent surface quality and practical handling characteristics. Available film grades differ in thickness, finish, surface treatment and performance.
VIP Global Co. helps industrial customers source suitable PET film through its commercial partners. Each grade is selected according to the intended application, processing conditions and required surface behaviour, with technical specifications confirmed before supply.

The Role of Film in Production
A suitable film can provide a consistent carrier or separating surface during processing. Polyester films are valued for their dimensional stability and handling properties, while clear, matte and other finishes serve different requirements. Performance depends on the actual film construction and operating conditions.
Polyester film is not polyester resin and does not replace the resin or glass reinforcement in a composite laminate. A general-purpose PET film is also not automatically a qualified release film.
Surface Finish and Release Behaviour
Film texture and treatment affect how a material interacts with the surface. Where release is required, confirm whether the selected film is untreated, release-coated or otherwise engineered for separation. Conversely, some processes require adhesion to the carrier. The correct choice depends on the resin, coating or material being processed.
For composite applications, validate contact with the resin and the full cure cycle. Check release, surface transfer, wrinkles and any influence of the film treatment on subsequent painting or bonding. Do not assume compatibility with polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy systems is identical.
Industrial Applications
- Selected carrier and separating-film applications after process validation.
- Release liners and casting applications using an appropriate surface treatment.
- Industrial laminating and converting processes requiring consistent film handling.
- Selected protective or packaging applications where the film specification meets the requirement.
What to Specify When Ordering
Provide the required thickness and tolerance, roll width, roll length or weight, core dimensions and quantity. Specify clear, matte or other finish requirements; the treated side; whether release or adhesion is needed; and any relevant cleanliness requirements.
Include the process temperature, contact duration, resin or coating chemistry and acceptable shrinkage. Temperature limits, chemical resistance and dimensional stability are product-specific. Request the quoted film’s technical documentation rather than applying values from another product.
Handling and Storage
Protect rolls from moisture, dust, scratches and deformation. Keep packaging intact until use and follow the film supplier’s storage and handling instructions. Clean equipment and controlled web tension help reduce contamination and wrinkles during conversion.
