Source announcement: 28 October 2026 | Industry coverage: 30 October 2026
Superior Huntingdon Composites plans to invest US$4.4 million in its Pennsylvania fiberglass manufacturing facility. The expansion is intended to restart a third production line that has been out of service since 2012. State officials say the project is expected to create 26 jobs over three years while retaining 74 existing positions.
The company produces continuous filament glass-fibre mats and veils for composite applications, including construction, transport, marine and energy equipment. Pennsylvania has proposed a US$1.69 million development loan and a US$200,000 grant in support of the investment.
Industry relevance: Additional domestic capacity for reinforcement mats and veils could offer composite manufacturers more sourcing options. The announcement does not provide a commissioning date or quantified output increase, so the effect on market supply cannot yet be measured.
