Jilin Carbon Advances 1K and 3K Aerospace Carbon Fibre Manufacturing Project

Source publication date: 5 November 2026

Jilin Carbon has reached an interim handover milestone for a high-performance carbon fibre project in Jilin City, China. The milestone was reported as completed on 10 October 2026, with industry coverage published on 5 November.

The RMB 331 million investment is intended to support PAN-based aerospace-grade carbon fibre manufacturing. The two-phase project includes two carbonisation lines and related fabric production, with a focus on fine 1K and 3K tows.

Once fully operational, the facility is expected to have annual capacity of 60 tonnes. This is a planned capacity, not confirmed current output. The project is relevant to specialised reinforcement supply for aerospace and defence rather than commodity glass-fibre roving markets.
