Taiwan Glass Approves Fiberglass Furnace Expansion in China
Source announcement date: 2 November 2026
Taiwan Glass Industry Corporation has announced board approval for a programme covering additional glass furnaces at its Taoyuan and Lukang facilities in Taiwan, as well as a cold-repair and expansion project at its Taijia Bengbu fiberglass subsidiary in China.
According to the company’s stock-exchange disclosure, the planned investments amount to approximately NT$1.63 billion and RMB 1.15 billion, respectively. The company says the projects are intended to respond to market demand, increase production capacity and strengthen market share. The announcement does not provide a detailed timetable or quantify the additional fiberglass output.
Industry perspective: The Bengbu project is particularly relevant to glass-fibre reinforcement supply. However, the announced investment should not be interpreted as immediately available capacity; implementation and commissioning remain ahead.
