EU Commission Adopts Proposed Easier Shipment Route for Composite Recycling Waste
Source publication date: 2 November 2026
The European Commission adopted a delegated act on 26 October 2026 introducing the BEU06 entry for non-hazardous fibre-reinforced polymer composite waste intended for recycling. If the measure completes parliamentary and Council scrutiny and enters into force, qualifying intra-EU shipments could use a less burdensome green-list information procedure. The entry explicitly covers examples such as glass fibre embedded in polymer resins and may include coatings, adhesives and core materials. This could make it easier to consolidate dispersed GRP and other composite waste at specialist recycling plants. The act is not yet in force, and hazardous or incorrectly classified waste would not automatically qualify.
