Trelleborg Agrees to Acquire US Thermoplastic Composites Specialist Tri-Mack

Trelleborg has signed an agreement to acquire US-based Tri-Mack Plastics Manufacturing Corp., a producer of precision thermoplastic and thermoplastic-composite components. The transaction is expected to close in early 2027, subject to completion conditions.

Tri-Mack operates in Rhode Island and combines composite processing with injection moulding, machining, tooling and assembly. The planned acquisition would bring these capabilities into Trelleborg Sealing Solutions’ aerospace operations, serving demanding aerospace, defence and industrial applications.

Industry relevance: The transaction reflects interest in vertically integrated thermoplastic-composite manufacturing, where material processing and precision component production are managed together. The agreement has been announced, but ownership transfer has not yet been completed; any post-acquisition operating benefits remain prospective.
