Grasim and Suzlon Plan Recyclable Epoxy Wind Turbine Blade Pilot in India
Source publication date: 5 November 2026
Grasim Industries’ Advanced Materials Division, Aditya Birla Renewables and Suzlon Energy have agreed to develop and demonstrate recyclable wind turbine blades in India. The memorandum of understanding was signed on 4 November 2026.
The proposed blades will use Grasim’s Recyclamine epoxy chemistry, designed to enable chemical recovery of constituents from cured thermoset composites. Suzlon will work on blade integration, while Aditya Birla Renewables plans to deploy a turbine with recyclable blades at a project site.
The field demonstration is intended to evaluate technical and commercial feasibility. The agreement does not establish that industrial-scale blade recycling has already been achieved. For composite manufacturers, the initiative highlights growing interest in end-of-life solutions for thermoset glass-fibre structures.
